Important note when choosing your plastic cosmetic surgeonIn Australia, almost anyone with a basic medical degree is allowed to perform Cosmetic Surgery. In fact, currently there is no legislation in place that stops any doctor, even your local GP, from calling themselves a plastic cosmetic surgeon, even though they have not undergone formal surgical training. Your decision to undergo cosmetic plastic surgery is an important one, and the selection of the right cosmetic plastic surgeon will have an enormous effect on how satisfied you are with your cosmetic surgery. Your only safeguard to ensure that you are dealing with a qualified cosmetic plastic surgeon is to look for the letters FRACS (PLAS) after a doctor’s name and check that they are affiliated with the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), as only qualified Plastic Surgeons have these titles and memberships. They reflect many years of training and exams (at least 10 years) in surgery beyond the medical school period. For more information on Dr Briggs and his practice please visit the About us page. |

Many people find it useful to bring a list of written questions to their consultation. That way you'll be sure you've asked everything you wish to. It may also be helpful to bring photographs of yourself at the time you were most satisfied with your appearance.
