Plasma Skin Regeneration
The Plasma Skin Regeneration (PSR) procedure is unparalleled for wrinkle reduction, skin tightening, and improvement in skin tone and texture. No other procedure treats more conditions at the same time, all of which are achieved with a low risk profile in which your own skin acts as a natural barrier dressing during the healing process.
How does it work?
Plasma Skin Regeneration uses a plasma of highly excited nitrogen molecules that when introduced to the skin releases energy, causing localised and rapid heating. The controlled thermal damage promotes the formation of new collagen within the skin.
What does PSR Treat?
This device effectively treats the following;
- Fine and deep wrinkles
- Open pores
- Skin pigmentation
- Acne scarring
- Skin laxity
Low energy treatments result in an improvement in fine lines, skin texture and skin pigmentation with minimal downtime. High energy PSR treatments result in significant skin improvement as well as skin tightening. Treatments may be applied to the neck, chest and hands with a lower energy as skin healing in these areas is slower.
With the low risk of complications and the short downtime compared to carbon dioxide laser resurfacing, this treatment is ideal for younger patients whom are just starting to see visible signs of ageing, or for older patients in whom sun damage and wrinkling is a concern. PSR is especially good for treatment wrinkles around the eyes.
A couple of weeks after PSR treatment the skin shows an obvious improvement, often described by patients as a glow or lustre. Skin continues to improve some 6-12 months following the PSR treatment as it becomes thicker and plumper due to the collagen remodelling in the deeper layers of the skin.
What does PRS treatment involve?
Anasthetic cream is applied to the treatment prior to the treatment, nerve blocks may also be utilised when necessary for patient comfort.
Following the treatment the skin will feel warm and over the next 7-12 days your old skin will remain intact and slowly shed naturally to reveal your new skin. High energy treatments result in downtime of approximately 7-12 days, significantly less than traditional laser resurfacing. Lower energy treatments may involve 1-3 days downtime or none at all.
