A healthy diet and regular exercise are essential elements in keeping your body healthy. Sometimes, however, you need a little boost to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. Dr. Briggs offers many state-of-the-art plastic surgery procedures to improve the contour of your body, as well as to restore form and function. We provide the following cosmetic and restorative procedures, custom tailored to suit both men and women:

Cosmetic Procedures

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation can help a woman improve the overall balance and contour of her figure by enhancing the size of her breasts. In the procedure, a breast implant is surgically inserted behind each breast to add size and fullness. Dr. Briggs carefully selects the location for the incision to keep the resulting scar as inconspicuous as possible, and places the implants in such a way as to achieve the most natural-looking augmentation possible. Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery can greatly benefit women who are experiencing problems as a result of exceptionally large breasts. These problems can include back and neck pain, indentations caused by bra straps, and feelings of self-consciousness. In breast reduction surgery, Dr. Briggs removes excess skin, fat, and glandular tissue from breasts, and sculpts them into a smaller, firmer, better-contoured shape. Dr Briggs favors a minimal invasive approach and in most breasts can utilize a vertical only scar for breast reduction.

Breast Lift

A breast lift is a surgical procedure designed to lift and rejuvenate breasts that have sagged as a result of the aging process, pregnancy, or other factors. Sagging breast are a result of stretched-out skin that has lost its elasticity, a natural effect of aging or of weight fluctuations. Breast lift surgery removes some of this inelastic skin, and creates a newer, more youthful contour for the breast.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)

Tummy tuck surgery, known medically as "abdominoplasty," is a highly effective method for getting rid of a persistent deposit of fat and skin in the area around your abdomen. Skin and fat are removed and the underlying abdominal muscles are tightened. The remaining abdominal skin is then tightened and secured with stitches. Some scars will remain, but Dr. Briggs will place the incisions in such a way that scars will remain hidden, even underneath a bathing suit. Contact our office for more information about tummy tuck surgery.

Body Lift (Torsoplasty)

People who have lost large amounts of weight, often as a result of bariatric surgery, can be troubled with large folds of loose skin after the fat is gone. When skin stretches, it can become damaged, losing its ability to conform to a smaller body contour. Body lift surgery, also called "torsoplasty," is a way of surgically removing the excess skin and tightening what remains, helping you achieve the body contour you were seeking when you began your weight loss.

Liposuction/Liposculpture

Persistent, localized areas of fat can persist in problem areas such as hips, thighs, buttocks and around the abdomen. Liposuction can be used to remove this fat, improving the lines of your figure. A surgical tube, called a "cannula," is used to break up and suction out fat cells. The cannula is inserted through a very small incision, so there is almost no noticeable scarring. Dr Briggs uses ultrasonic assisted liposuction for a minimally invasive procedure, see www.vaser.com and www.liposuction.com. Contact us today to find out more about liposuction.

Calf Implants

Full, well-shaped calves can greatly add to the overall contour of your lower body, creating a stronger, more chiseled appearance in your legs. If you'd like to enhance the appearance of you calf muscles, calf implants can help you attain the look you're seeking. Dr. Briggs inserts the implants in a way that achieves the most natural look possible, keeping incision and scarring to a minimum.

Scar Revision

Dr. Briggs has experience in many procedures that can be used to reduce the prominence of scars. The appearance of some scars can be improved with steroidal medications, but for many scars, plastic surgery is the best option. Dr. Briggs performs a procedure called "z-plasty," in which the scar is removed using a Z-shaped incision. The skin is then brought together and allowed to heal naturally. For larger areas of scarring, skin grafts or flap surgery may be necessary.
