Breast Reduction Perth & Breast Lift Perth Australia
Breast Reduction Surgery
Breast reduction surgery - also called reduction mammaplasty - can greatly
benefit women who are experiencing problems as a result of exceptionally
large breasts. It is a procedure that removes excess breast tissue and
skin, making your breasts more proportional to the rest of your body.
The areola (the pigmented skin surrounding the nipple) may be reduced
and repositioned as well. See

Breast Lift Perth
A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape
sagging breasts. Factors such as pregnancy, nursing, and the force of
gravity take their toll on a woman's breasts over the years. If your breasts
are small or have lost volume, after pregnancy for example,
breast
implants inserted in conjunction with a breast lift can increase both
their firmness and their size.

Reasons for Breast Reduction Surgery
You may be a good candidate for breast reduction if you have
large breasts and want to resolve one or more of the following
associated problems:
- back, neck, or shoulder pain caused by the weight of breasts
- heavy, sagging breasts with very low nipples and areolas
- breasts that are too large in proportion to your body frame
- skin rash beneath the breasts
- grooves in your shoulders caused by bra straps
- restriction of physical activity due to the size and weight of your breasts
- feelings of self-consciousness or self-esteem problems
- one breast that is much larger than the other
How is Breast Reduction Surgery Done?
In breast reduction surgery, Dr. Briggs removes excess skin,
fat, and glandular tissue from breasts, and sculpts them into a smaller,
firmer, better-contoured shape. Dr Briggs favors a minimally invasive
approach and in most breasts is able to utilise a vertical-only scar.
Best Candidates for a Breast Lift Procedure
The best candidates for a breast lift are physically
healthy, emotionally stable women who are realistic about what the
breast lift surgery can accomplish. The best results of breast lift
surgery are usually achieved in women with small, sagging breasts.
Breasts of any size can be lifted, but the results may not last as long
in heavy breasts. See
Gallery for before and after images
of breast lift surgery.
How is Breast Lift Surgery Done?
In breast lift surgery, the incision outlines the area from
which breast skin will be removed and defines the new location for the
nipple. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola are
moved to the higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then
brought down and together to reshape the breast. Stitches are usually
located around the areola, in a vertical line extending downwards from
the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast.
