Dermal Fillers - Perth, Western Australia
Treatment with a dermal filler is an easy, non surgical option to instantly enhance your looks.
The dermal filler consists of a sterile gel and contains non-animal stabilised hyaluronic acid - a substance found naturally in the body.
Hyaluronic acid holds water, giving volume to the skin. However, as we age, our natural production of hyaluronic acid diminishes. A simple injection of hyaluronic acid can replenish the lost volume and improve your appearance by creating fuller, more defined lips and smoothing out folds and wrinkles. It may be used for;
- Lip enhancement
- Lip definition
- Facial contouring
- Smoothing wrinkles and folds throughout the face
- Improving dark circles under the eye
There are a few hyaluronic acid based products, all with varying levels of viscosity to suit specific treatment programs and skin needs. The treatment lasts, on average six to twelve months depending on your body’s ability to degrade the product.
The side effects with the hyaluronic acid treatment are temporary and localised to the area of injection. They may include bruising, redness, swelling or tenderness.
Another unique injectable material containing micro particles called poly-L-lactic acid can help lift and smooth deep lines, wrinkles and furrows.
Poly-L-lactic acid is biodegradable and has been used in various forms of plastic and reconstructive surgery for more than 20 years.
The product is slowly absorbed naturally by the body, with a low risk of allergy. It is used to improve facial appearance and assist in reversing the effects of ageing, specifically addressing:
- Deep folds between your nose and mouth
- Creases at the side of your mouth
- Wrinkles in your cheeks or chin
- Faces that may have a sunken-in or hollowed appearance
- Sagging skin, lacking firmness and elasticity
Rather than actually filling the area, this treatment stimulates the body to produce collagen. Three to six weeks post-treatment the area injected slowly builds up collagen, gains volume and unwanted lines and wrinkles gradually diminish as the skin thickens.
The number of treatments required may vary depending on the depth of wrinkles and the desired result. Generally up to three treatments are recommended and, in most cases, the result will last for up to 24 months.
The side effects of this treatment are temporary and localised to the area of injection. These may include bruising, redness, swelling and tenderness. Tiny bumps may also appear on the skin’s surface 6-12 months post-treatment when pressed. Massaging after treatment will minimize their occurrence.
