Skin Care Protection - Sunscreen

Sunscreen is of paramount importance to all skincare regimes.  It must be worn every day rain, hail or shine, as protection from ultra violet radiation will significantly affect your future appearance.

The Ultraviolet Spectrum is divided into the following regions: UVC, UVB, UVA and UVA II. The Ozone Layer protects us from damage against UVC but not UVA and UVB rays.

An adequate sunscreen can assist in the prevention of wrinkles, pigmentation and skin cancers. The sun directly attacks the collagen structure of the skin, thickening its exterior and reducing the skin’s elasticity.  Topical antioxidants such as Vitamin C can also aid in the protection against UVA and UVB damage as well as stimulate collagen growth.

There are a selection of broadspectrum sunscreens and antioxidants available from Dr Briggs surgery.  Contact us for your own personalised skincare consultation in Perth, Western Australia.
