Alphahydroxy Acid (AHA), such as glycolic, lactic, or fruit acids are the mildest of the medical peel formulas.

We perform glycolic acid peels to accelerate cell turnover and to break-down the cross linkages between ageing cells, resulting in smoother, brighter-looking skin by. A glycolic acid peel can also assist in improving: 
  • Pigmentation
  • Age spots

  • Acne
  • Enlarged pores
AHA peels are suitable for both men and women of all ages.  The peels are performed at our purpose-built premises in Subiaco following an initial consultation with our Registered Nurse.

Concentrations of an AHA may be applied weekly or at longer intervals.  To obtain optimal results a series of four to six peels followed by maintenance peels every few months is recommended.

Patients wishing to maximise the benefits of their peel program can commence an at-home skin care regime using products that are therapeutically formulated to increase cell turn-over and accelerate skin healing.

Whilst most patients return to normal looking skin after a few days, some may experience redness after the peel (similar to mild sunburn). It is very important to avoid sun exposure and to use a sunscreen 30+ UVA/UVB.
