Trichloroacetic Acid (AHA) Chemical Peel - Perth, Western Australia
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) has been used for over 30 years to perform skin rejuvenation. It can be used in many concentrations for either a superficial or medium depth peel.
Superficial TCA peels are designed to be a lighter peel whilst still stronger than an alphahydroxy acid peel. These peels can provide smoother, even looking skin by speeding up cell turn over and breaking down the cross linkages between ageing cells.
A TCA peel can assist individuals who wish to improve the following skin concerns;
- Age spots
- Freckles
- Fine lines
- Acne scarring
- Enlarged pores
- Pigmentation
- Photo damage
TCA peels are suitable for both men and women of all ages. The peels are performed at our purpose-built premises in Subiaco following an initial consultation with our Registered Nurse.
An improvement is noticeable after each peel however optimal results will be achieved following a number of peels. Patients wishing to maximise the benefits of their peel program can commence an at-home skin care regime using products that are therapeutically formulated to increase cell turn-over and accelerate skin healing.
Most patients can return to work immediately, however if you are conscious of the appearance of flaky skin we recommend timing the procedure so peeling mainly occurs over the weekend. The skin will be pink following the peel (similar to mild sunburn) and the peeling process can last two to seven days. It is very important to avoid sun exposure at all times and to use a sunscreen 30+ UVA/UVB.
